My family had been regular customers of Geno's Pizza for over six years, averaging $50-60 per month. The one time my husband called to say a delivery was over an hour late, and said he would just stop in to pick it up, we were told that Geno's would charge us the delivery fee despite picking up our own order. When he objected to the extra fee, Geno's Pizza informed us that they would no longer deliver to our home. A week later I called and asked a manager why we had been banned for Geno's failing to provide service and she refused to give any explanation, was not polite at all and, when I told her Geno's was being unfair to us, she hung up the phone on me! When I called back to ask her name to file a complaint, she refused to give it. Finally, after much headache, she agreed to have a pizza delivered and stated that she was aware that her treatment of me was not warranted. Two weeks later I called to place an order and, surprise, was told once again that we were banned from delivery. When I explained to the man on the phone that the mistake was Geno's Pizza and not ours and that it had already been sorted out, he proceeded to reluctantly agree to take my order but first warned me that if we cancelled a delivery again, he would not deliver to us. When I replied that we had never cancelled the first time, that Geno's Pizza had actually failed to deliver our order, and that it wasnt fair of Geno's Pizza to threaten us for something we didnt do in the first place, he hung up on me.
I have never dealt with a group of people that treat customers who have the audacity to complain about poor service in such a rude and unprofessional manner. The impression the manager and phone worker gave me was that they felt Geno's employees are above reproach and can be rude to customers who dare to have a complaint about service.
I happily take my family's business up the road to a different pizza parlor, and will have nothing but distaste for Geno's Pizza from now on. Ironically, the Harding's Market hot deli a block over from Geno's makes better pizza, and at a lower price - so perhaps the universe rewarded my family for Geno's Pizza's poor behavior.
